Guest Policies

The Dala House is on the main street in Onekama, M-22. The Glenwood is a fine dining restaurant about a quarter of a mile down the road. The village park, the bank, one of the marinas, and several shops are within walking distance. All guests of The Dala House agree to our policies, rules, and guidelines below. We hope you enjoy your stay with us.

House Rules

Follow these rules to be a considerate guest and avoid any issues during your stay.

• Check-in after 4:00 PM

• Checkout before 11:00 AM

• Self check-in with keypad

• No parties or events

• No smoking

• No pets

GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES

1. Please do not smoke cigarettes, cannabis (weed), cigars, nor vape or chew inside this property.

2. At no time should the amount of people exceed a maximum of 8 persons inside the suite, and only the 2 names listed on the reservation shall be in the house after 11 PM.

3. Check in is 3 PM (unless otherwise arranged with the host).

4. Check out is 11 AM (unless otherwise arranged with the host).

5. You may bag your garbage and place in the bin in the back yard prior to your departure.

6. Please refrain from lighting candles inside the suite.

7. All support or service animals must be disclosed PRIOR to check in, and proper documentation must be collected and rules must be followed (see "Pet Policy" below).

8. You will be charged for any missing items such as linens, pillows, bathrobes, dishes, and/or appliances. We are thrilled you like our products, but please contact your host for information on how you can purchase these items for yourself, if interested.

 

PET POLICY

Pets are NOT allowed on this property. However, if you have a legitimate support animal, service animal, or emotional service animal, we will make exceptions with the following stipulations:

1. A $50 pet fee per stay per animal will be collected at the time of booking.

2. A copy of your animal’s certification or Doctor’s signed letter/RX will be required at the time of booking.

3. An updated copy of vaccinations and license will be required at the time of booking.

4. Your support/service animal will remain with you at all times and will never be left alone in the suite.

5. You will clean up any and all messes made inside The Dala House, as well as the yard and any common grounds.

6.  You disclose you have a service animal at the time of booking.

Guest Safety

SECURITY CAMERAS AND RECORDING DEVICES

For your safety and the safety of other guests and visitors, there are security cameras attached to this property. There is one camera inside the main entrance facing the door and 3 additional cameras attached to the outside of the building.

SHARED SPACES

All guests must enter through the main front entrance to get to their respective locked suite.

Some of the patio area may be shared with the guest staying next to you.

The parking area will be shared with other guests.

The yard on the property will be shared with other guests.

STAIRS AND RAMPS

There are no ramps to access The Dala House.

There are a few steps up onto the front porch and entrance.

Some guests may use other stairways in the building as well.

The Dala House does not have elevators.

OTHER SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

Portage Lake is across the road. You can easily walk to the Marina or public beach and boat launch in Onekama Park. Lake Michigan beaches are a short drive away. 

Cancellation Policy

The Dala House may reimburse all or part of your reservations prior to your scheduled stay. We do not reimburse you for cancellations 24 hours before the day of your reservation. We do not cover cancellations due to illness or travel disruptions caused by COVID-19 or any other extenuating circumstances 24 hours before the day of your reservation or seek a full refund for these circumstances one month before your reservation date. If you need to cancel your reservation use the below as your guide to our reimbursement policies.

REFUNDS MORE THAN A MONTH BEFORE RESERVATION

You are entitled to a full refund if you cancel your reservation a month (one full calendar day) before your reservation date. You are not entitled to a full refund less than one calendar day month before your reservation day.

REFUNDS LESS THAN A MONTH BEFORE RESERVATION

You are entitled to a 50% refund of every reserved night if you cancel your reservation less than a month (one full calendar day) before your reservation date less any service fees associated with your stay. Service fees are non-refundable at this point.

REFUNDS LESS THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE RESERVATION

No refunds will be issued if you cancel your reservation 24 hours or less before your reservation date and check in time.
